Five Unconventional Christmas Gift Ideas
BestYouPRO International December 2016
It’s the season of giving. Christmas is here but coming up with unique gifts can be a hassle. This not only happens when you are not entirely familiar with the person you getting a gift for, since it can also happen with persons you have known for years. If you have known someone for a few years, it is quite likely, that you may have already exhausted their list of favourite things to get as gifts. Here are five (5) unconventional Christmas gift ideas.
1. A Good Book
Those of you who know me, saw this one coming a mile away. Jim Rohn, the pioneer of Personal Development said “The book you don’t read won’t help.” There are amazing ideas hidden within the pages of a good book. You can never go wrong with a good book.
I highly recommend Your One Word by Evan Carmichael. Learn more about Evan here: http://www.evancarmichael.com/
2. An App
You know that App your friend or loved one cannot stop using? The one that he/she is on 24/7? The one that has the cool extra features that you have to pay $3.00 USD to unlock? That might be the cheapest gift you are going to buy and he/she will love you for it.
I love the Cashflow 101 game that Robert Kiyosaki (of the RichDad Company) developed but I could only play one session in the free version. Getting the paid version was one the sweetest gifts I ever got.
3. Magazine Subscription
I am a lover of great pieces of writings, physics journals and everything on investing so I get the latest issue of SUCCESS Magazine as soon as I see it on the shelf of a bookstore.
I have a friend that loves exotic homes and real estate. Maybe you find it challenging to choose a gift for that person who never stops taking about cars, entrepreneurship, recipes or makeup.
A fully paid (annual) subscription to the leading magazine on the subject might be a great idea you have overlooked. Additionally, with the fact that the gift keeps coming every month, you can be sure the friend will not forget you.
4. A Plaque
Are you buying a Christmas card for your favourite Supervisor/Employee? Of course not. It’ll be forgotten by March next year. If you are gonna spend, why not get that special someone, friend, or family member something that will be timeless.
5. An Activity
Okay, so maybe this one is not too far outside the box. Many of us plan a Christmas retreat. Many corporations grant their employees a day pass to a fun location that will allow them to connect, reflect and relax. But it does not have to be in December, you can order a pass for an exquisite location for early next year. You’ll probably get a discounted rate and the recipient gets something to look forward to in the New Year.
